‘견생’ 조각전은 크라운 해태제과에서 운영하는 조각전으로 현대 조각의 저변을 넓히기 위해 마련됐다.

이 조각전의 이름인 ‘견생’은 서울 세브란스병원에서 이 작품을 본 관객이 "조각을 보니 생명력이 솟아나는 것 같다."라고 표현한 것을 계기로 ‘보면 생명이 생긴다’는 의미를 담고 있다.
